London

On Sunday my mum and I went to London, as we often do for a girls get away. I thought I’d share with you some of the stuff we got up to, it’s probably gonna be a long one so I hope you don’t mind (there also will be a post coming up of the stuff I bought). On Sunday we got the train at 10:20. IMG_5980.JPG On the train I had a Pret smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich (which is my favourite and super delicious), a bottle of water and the latest issue of Nylon with Tavi Gevinson on the front. There were quite a few delays and waits but we finally arrived at London at 13:05. The first thing we did was get the tube to Old Street, where we then walked to Columbia Road Flower Market. IMG_5979.JPG I didn’t get any pictures there because it was super busy and you could barely move. But it smelt so good with all the flowers and looked so pretty. There were lots of shops at the side and we went in an old sweet shop and I wanted to buy everything. We then walked down the street a bit and they had these mini cafés in between the shops, where my mum got a double espresso and I got a delicious hot chocolate. We then continued walking down, as we were trying to find a specific shop we wanted to go to, and then we got a little bit lost in a park. Where I found a Fight Club quote printed on a door, which I thought was pretty cool. IMG_5981.JPG After asking for directions we got back on track and managed to find the shop we wanted called When I Am Rich. My mum later enlightened me on the name of the shop, as it was in Shoreditch and if you remember the old nursery rhyme Oranges and Lemons one of the lines was “when I am rich said the bells of Shoreditch”, which I thought was very clever. It was one of those shops where you properly have to dig around and look, so we spent a good amount of time in there and I also did a bit of damage. IMG_5983.JPG We then walked to the next shop we wanted to find, called Storm In A Teacup. Which was a really nice shop but everything was quite expensive as it was designer and I was trying to be good and not buy too much. We then walked to where we were meeting a friend and on the way we saw a tv show/film being shot, which was very exciting. It looked like it was set in the 1950s or so and they’d made all the old shops and the costumes were amazing, it was very interesting to watch. After being a little bit nosey, we continued walking to where we were meeting our friend, at a Japanese restaurant called The Japanese Canteen. Where I had an All Salmon Set with salmon rolls and salmon and avocado maki. It was delicious. IMG_5982.JPG After the meal we went to Beyond Retro. They were playing Halloween music such as This Is Halloween from The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is one of my favourites. They also had a Halloween section where there were costumes like wedding dresses covered in blood and they even had Halloween jumpers, which I really wanted but I already have a less in your face one. I did buy something, not halloween related, but you’ll have to wait for another post to see. IMG_5984.JPG The next day we took the bus to St Giles High Street, as we wanted to go to a restaurant that had been recommended to us by the friend we met up with yesterday. The restaurant was called Ippudo. It was absolutely delicious my favourites were the gyoza and the cucumber dish (I can’t remember what it was called). It was just very simple dishes but they were so fresh, clean but with great taste. IMG_6082.JPG After we’d eaten our delicious brunch, we went shopping (again) on one ofthe main shopping streets, Regent Street. There we went to one of my all time favourite shops, & Other Stories. I absolutely love the clothes and the layout of the shop, to be honest just everything in general is perfect. I love how a lot of things are on shelves or little tables with plants everywhere and everything is colour coordinated. IMG_6085.JPG The make up and bath section is set up so nicely. The packaging of all the make up is gorgeous and the quality is amazing. IMG_6084.JPG They also have tables with mirrors and chairs, like mini make up/dressing tables in your bedroom, where you can test the make up. The soap/bath/shower section is set up with a large sink and mirror and all the soaps on the sink, like you would have in your bathroom. IMG_6083.JPG We then went to another favourite, Liberty. My mum wanted to buy a perfume balm from a shop, called Diptyque Paris. The shop smelt amazing and had the most beautiful peacock wallpaper. IMG_6087.JPG The products were all set up on these beautiful white shelves, they reminded me of what a posh woman would have had in her bedroom or parlour room. IMG_6086.JPG The next stop was Anthropologie. As soon as you walk into Anthropologie you always smell the most amazing smell every time. When you walk a bit further in, you see the most amazing wall covered in plants, every time I see it I always think, I want that in my future house. IMG_6091.JPG When you go upstairs there’s a room, that’s like a bedroom with a bed inside and a sort of pretend bathroom. My mum and I always joke about living there, but I honestly would. IMG_6088.JPG It’s set up like a house but also a shop, there will be products set up on shelves you could have in your house and then there would be a sofa next to it. Anthropologie would be a shop I could definitely live in, and wouldn’t mind at all. IMG_6090.JPG Also they had these most beautiful typewriters and I was very desperate to buy one. But I knew it would be very neglected and would just be sat there to look pretty. The noise typewriters make me feel very happy for some reason. IMG_6089-2.JPG We then went to another of my favourite shops, Uniqlo. The clothes here are always so simple, yet look good and they’re amazing quality. I always want everything from here, even the men’s clothes. IMG_6092.JPG Next we took the tube to Knightsbridge and went to Harrods to look at the food section, because it’s always amazing. They had all the Christmas decorations up (bit early into opinion, but I still appreciated them.) The food court of Harrods is amazing, I don’t even know if the food tastes great, but it all looks bloody amazing. Also the building is amazing, in the main part of the food section, the ceiling amazes me. IMG_6093.JPG We then walked to Kensington High Street, on the way we walked past the Victoria & Albert Museum and the National History Museum (where Harry Styles was a bit later on!!!! Unfortunately didn’t see him though.) IMG_6094.JPG Once at Kensington High Street we went to the huge Whole Foods they have there. My mum wanted to go and I was a bit like “eh”, but once inside my life changed they had everything from a sushi bar and an actual bar with wine to a whole room full of cheese and a chocolate counter. I got a pretzel as a little snack which was delicious. IMG_6095.JPG After our Whole Foods extravaganza, we took the tube to Regents Park. Here, we had tea with some family friends. I unfortunately didn’t take any pictures of the food, but they were little sandwiches with no crust, samosas, the most amazing cupcakes (I had two oops) and more. Finally, on our last day we got the bus to Dover Street in Mayfair as we wanted to have a nosey in Victoria Beckham’s new shop. First we went to Miu Miu, one of my favourite high end shops, the designs are simply gorgeous here and I wanted a lot of very pricey things. I fell in love with these shoes, I’d never be able to afford them but you know I can wish. IMG_6104.JPG We then tried to go to the Victoria Beckham shop but it didn’t open until 11 and we needed to go eat before we got our train at 1. We went back to Uniqlo as my mum wanted to change the size of some trousers and we cheekily ended up buying more things. IMG_6101.JPG We then went back to the same Japanse restaurant, Ippudo, as we loved it so much the first time and couldn’t stop thinking about it. It was just as delicious as the first time, maybe even more! IMG_6103.JPG IMG_6102.JPG Then we had to get the train back home 😦

Birthday Haul

Hi everyone,
It was my birthday on 29th July and I thought I would show you some of the stuff I got. Part of my birthday gift from my parents was to go to London so this is also including what I bought there. I called this a half birthday haul as not all my friends have given me my presents yet, as my party was quite short notice and is in the  summer holidays. Anyway hope you enjoy!

My first gift was from my friend, Charlotte and I couldn’t be bothered to get the DVD from downstairs so this picture is from google. But I asked her for box sets for my birthday and I just finished Skins series 2 so I can’t wait to start series 3 as I’ve loved the previous ones!
Charlotte also got me this really nice Papaya Body Butter from The Body Shop, that oddly smells like a mixture of mango and papaya but still smells amazing. Thank you Charlotte!
My friend Megan got me these gorgeous Body Shop products in the Water Lotus scent and I’ve never smelt these before but they smell amazing! It was in a little gift set with a loofah, shower gel and body spray, I’ve used the body spray and it was so nice.
Also as a little present Megan got me a Doctor Who activity book, as I like Doctor Who and who doesn’t love activity books also STICKERS.
Megan also got me a stick of marshmallows covered in chocolate, which I have yet to eat because I always save food people give me as gifts for ages. Thank you Megan!
My friend Ayesha got me some really nice chocolates in gorgeous wrapping (also I’ve had a few already and they’re really delicious.) Thank you Ayesha!
My friend Kate got me this gorgeous jar, which I’m probably going to use for a candle or something else.

Kate also got me this little paper decoration which I’m going to hang in my room at some point as I bet it’s going to look really pretty, especially as the paper looks thin and therefore light will shine through it.

Kate also got me this cute hat as she knows I like hats and its got little cat ears on it, I’ve only worn this once so far as I haven’t really been out of the house but I know I will get a lot of wear out of it. Thank you Kate!
My friend Alice got me the Starbuck Caramel Drizzle Sauce because OH MY GOD, this thing is heaven. Every time I’ve ever been into Starbucks I’ve always said if I ever bought one I’d drink the whole thing. Alice therefore made my dreams come true, I have yet to drink the whole thing but I’ve had little tastes
.
Alice also got me these Birthday cake M&Ms, which I have yet to eat because I want to save them.

Alice also got me these amazing Happy Birthday sunglasses which are super cool and I was wearing them all day on my birthday. Thank you Alice!
My friend Sophie got me this really lovely gift, which is one of those gifts that I probably wouldn’t buy for myself but makes a lovely gift and is super cool. It’s basically a book which gives you different titles to list movies to do with the title it gives you. It’s perfect for me because I love making lists and I love films. I haven’t started using it though because I’m a perfectionist when it comes to things like these and it has to be perfect. Thank you Sophie!
My friend Tara got me this amazing present which is a tote bag that says “I was a teenage popstar in Canada” which is a quote from How I Met Your Mother (which is also my favourite TV Show).
Tara also got me this Kate Middleton style guide as I love her and he clothes 🙂 Thank you Tara!
My parents and my brother got me this satchel as they know I’ve wanted one for a long time and I’m in love with this one and I’ve got so much use out of it. It’s also something that easily goes with everything  and you can use it for a day outing as it’s roomy but also is light so you can use it for just a short trip.
My parents and my brother got me this gorgeous jumpsuit from Urban Outfitters, which is super comfy and is easy to style with and I’m so in love with it. Thank you to my parents and my brother!

Our friends we stayed with on our first night in London got me this really nice Jack Wills pencil case which I’ll either use as a pencil case or a little make up bag to carry around in my main bag. They also got me a pen as well, so thank you!

Our friends we stayed with on the second night got me this flower crown from Beyond Retro.

They also got me this lip gloss from Soap and Glory, which is the Sexy Mother Plucker (this is supposed to make your lips look bigger and it does but it also makes your lips super tingly and it’s funny). Thank you to them both as well!

Now these are the things I bought in London which are also part of my birthday presents. I got this necklace from & other stories, it’s super pretty and I think it can be worn casually of formally.
I got these sunglasses from Beyond Retro which I think were £14 but I’m not sure, I really love these style of glasses and this colour but I’m really not sure they suit me.

I got this really pretty 30cm ruler from Liberty as I needed one and it was pretty.
I got these comfy trousers from Uniqlo and I love these because  you can just throw them on but they still look pretty and not scruffy like some tracksuit bottoms or others.
I got this shirt from New Look, which was so soft and I thought I could either wear it as a jacket, not fully buttoned up with a top underneath, fully buttoned up or fully buttoned up with a jumper over the top and the collar peeking out.
I got this book from Anthroplogie (which is one of my new favourite shops) as I love old classic books with new pretty covers.
I got these really nice trousers from Uniqlo which I’m in love with and I think they can be worn formally or casually. I’ve been looking for trousers like this for ages and I love them.
I got this shirt from Urban Outfitters because I’ve wanted a plaid shirt because you can wear it in many ways like tied around your waist, under a jumper, fully buttoned up, open over a top, half buttoned up over a top or under another jacket sticking out and probably many others.

I got this t-shirt from Uniqlo but it was actually from the mens section, but I have a big love for Monsters Inc and I mean a /big/ love.
I got this tied crop Hawaiian style shirt and the colours are so pretty and I’m in love with this.
I got this denim pinafore also from Beyond Retro because I’ve wanted one for so long and I loved the little pattern below the neck line, so far I’ve worn this with the Hawaiian shirt above, underneath.
